Hemp plastics are biocomposites made by infusing traditional or biodegradable resins with hemp fibers and hurd to create stronger, lighter, and more sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based plastics. These materials are being adopted in industries ranging from automotive manufacturing to consumer goods, offering a reduced carbon footprint and increased durability. By utilizing hemp as a plastic additive, Michigan manufacturers can lead the transition toward a circular, bio-based economy.
